Hayden's Story

I guess since Hayden is almost 7 months old I should finally take some time and write his birth story.

Around 1am on January 13th,2014 I started having contractions, nothing to serious. They were 7-10 minutes apart with a few really nasty ones in-between. That went on for about three hours but I didn't think anything was happening because I would fall asleep when I wasn't having contractions. With Keaton I didn't have any contractions intil my water broke, so I thought I was okay cause my water had broke yet. Finally around 4:30am I decided to wake Shawn up and told him that we needed to call our Midwife. She was on her way to the Hospital to meet two other couples so we decided that it would probably be a good idea to have her check me since I go REALLY FAST with my births. I had decided to use the bathroom before I got dressed and this is where things get interesting.....

I went into the bathroom just in time for my water to break over the toilet (I know, TMI) as soon as that happened I could feel Hayden crowning! I was stuck in the bathroom. We were living with my parents at the time while our home in Blackfoot was being finished and I had timed how long it took to get from their house to the Hospital and it was 10 minutes. We didn't have 10 minutes, I knew we were going to have Hayden at home. Shawn kept saying "No, we are not having him at home." "Let's Go Now! As he was throwing my slippers & jacket at me. I couldn't move from where I was at and just realized this is the reality of our situation.

Shawn in a panic asked me what to do, I told him to go get my mom (She had delivered 6 of her babies at home and would know what to do) and to call 911. I was standing up in the doorway of the bathroom and five minutes later with two pushes Hayden Glenn Hunter was born. He weighed in at 7lbs 15oz. and was 20.5 inches long. He was beautiful and so peaceful. My mom and sister barely made it in time to catch him. My dad came down the stairs with a new shoelace and scissors to cut Hayden's cord, but we waited for the paramedics to do that.

The EMT's showed up shorty to take me & Hayden to the Hospital to make sure that we were okay. My dad was so mad at them. I had Hayden in the basement and they made me walk up about 15 stairs to get on the gurney. We took a ride in the Ambulance to the hospital and met Shawn and our Midwife there. Everyone was shocked that I had him at home. We were both checked out and we got a clean bill of health. They made us stay over night just to watch Hayden and made sure nothing changed.

If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change anything in the world. It was such an amazing experience. I know one thing for sure, the next time I have another baby I'm doing it standing up. Less painful and gravity is a wonderful thing!

Oh, and next time we will be heading to the hospital when I start having contractions :)

Hayden I want you to know that we love you so much. We are so blessed to have you in our family.

Love,

Dad, Mom and big brother Keaton.

It's a BOY!!!!

We found out today that another little boy will be joining our family in January! We are so excited to meet this little guy! Keaton is going to the best big brother. We are trying to get him excited for the new baby. He knows where Mommy's baby is, and he will kiss it, rub it, and say HI BABY BOY! He also thinks that he has a baby in his belly. He makes us kiss it sometimes :)
This time around, I had no idea what this baby was going to be. With Keaton, I knew he was a boy from day one. For some reason, I had no feels/clues/anything. As long as it's healthy is all that mattered to me.
Shawn is super excited to have another little boy running around the house. And if he is anything like Keaton, we are going to have our hands full!
He still doesn't have a name. Nothing really has come to mind. I guess I need to go flip through a baby name book and see what name it lands on. That's how I found Keaton's name, and it fits him to a T. Shawn says we don't need to worry about a name until he is born. So we will see if that changes in the next few months.

Flexing his little muscles! He's showing Keaton that he will be able to hold his own.

As for me, I feel great! I did the Dirty Dash a couple of weeks ago, which was really fun! and softball starts tonight, it should be a really fun season!
My cravings are still fruits, so I can't complain to much.

We all can't wait to meet this little man!

Bump Ahead!

That's right, we are adding to our family again! I'm currently 18 weeks & feeling great! I haven't had any morning sickness or anything to really complain about. This pregnancy is pretty different than Keaton.

This time around:

~Smells get to me really bad.
~I have crazy dreams.
~I crave fruit like you would not believe.
~I can't eat anything peanut butter (which I love)
~ Just the thought of mexican food makes me sick.

I have played softball this entire time, and will be playing until mid October, which puts me at about 7 months along! Yes, I'm crazy, but its the only way that I get my exercise in. I also just ran The Dirty Dash in Boise at 17 weeks along. It about killed me, but I was so glad that I did it, and was about to finish with the team.

We find out what the gender is on August 26, 2013 and are pretty excited to know what we are having. Everyone We've talked to say we are having a girl except Shawn's mom, she swears we are having another boy. I honestly can't tell you what we are having. With Keaton I knew right away that he was a boy, with this one, I have no idea or feeling. After all this time of not wanting a girl, I think that I might be changing my mind. As long as it's healthy that's all that matters to us!

Sorry no pictures yet, I have been slacky really bad this baby on the picture front. I will keep this better updated from here on out!

Keatons 2!

I can't believe that 2 years have past since I became a Mommy. Keaton has brought so much joy & love into our home. He loves life, and the people around him. He is learning new things everyday. He loves pizza, grilled cheese, hot dogs, mac'n'cheese, and chicken nuggets & fries. He can count to three, name about 7 colors, and can tell you what 5 different sounds animals make (Cat, Cow, Dog, Sheep, Duck). He's great at giving high fives, thumbs up/down, hugs, kisses, knuckles, and getting you with his monster fingers. His favorite thing to play with right now are toy guns and he is a good aim/shot if I do say so myself. If there isn't a toy gun around he is pretty good at using his fingers as one.(He even says boom boom when he shoots). He is such a Daddy's boy! anything/everything Shawn is doing Keaton is his little shadow. We are pretty lucky to have this little man in our lives! We love you so much keaton, you'll never know what you mean to us!

Keaton at 4 Months!

I can't believe that 4 months have already gone by! I wish that time would slow down just a little bit. Keaton has changed to much lately. He started laughing a couple of weeks ago. The funny thing about it is, I'm the only one that can get him to laugh like crazy. He has rolled over twice. The first time I missed it because I was looking online for a purse. :( The second time he did it when he was staying at my parents house.

He is getting quite the little personality! Hes starting to play shy when people talk to him. He found his voice this last week, and LOVES to hear himself talk/scream. Some night you can be outside and hear him squawking inside.

He loves to be sang to. I rub his feet every night and sing him a song as I do it, and he tries to sing along. At any given time of the day I am known just busting out a song for him, and he loves it.

HE still isn't sleeping through the night. He will do really well for a week, and it will all go downhill from there. He at least gets up once around 5am to eat. The funny thing is, he is still sleeping when hes eating. He loves to cuddle in bed with me in the mornings after Shawn leaves for work. I love listening to all the little sounds/laughs he makes in his sleep.

Here are a few things about Keaton in the last 4 months:

~Loves to smile!

~Has so many facial expressions for a little guy.

~Has most of his hair from birth still.

~Is teething.

~Loves to laugh!

~Loves watching sports on T.V.

~Loves taking showers every night before bed.

~Has many nicknames: Monster, Kleaton, Monster Mcmonsty Pants.

~Loves his Aunts, Uncles, & Grandparents.

~Is a total mommy's boy, but loves his daddy.

Just a few things about our little man. I can't even imagine our lives without him. Keaton, you are such a blessing to us, and we can't wait to watch you grow and learn new things.
