Shawn and I were surprisingly awaken this morning to our power going out and a siren going off. We were alittle freaked out cause we had no idea what was going on. We opened our front door and the was a Police cruiser, with no one in it. Shawn got really excited and said that they were in a foot pursuit. He turned into "COP MODE" and starting looking around our backyard and everything. A couple mintues later 2 other cruisers showed up, than a three other crusiers showed up. We set up and watched out our window for about 20 mintues and then decided to go to bed. Well, today I was looking on the Channel 6 News website and this is what I found:
An early morning run from the law landed one man in jail after a short trip to the hospital.
Around 4:15 Tuesday morning, Pocatello Police pulled over Steven Leischner on a suspected DUI in the area of North Main and Kraft Road in Pocatello.
According to police, Leischner then took off from the traffic stop, but didn't get far. The car he was driving crashed into a power pole near Foothill and Oakwood, knocking out power in that area. Power has since been restored.
Leischner received minor scrapes in the collision and was taken to the hospital to be checked out. He is now in the Bannock County Jail, charged with possession of suspected marijuana, possession of suspected methamphetamine, DUI and felony eluding.
P.S. OUR POWER WAS OUT FOR 4 HOURS, AND I WAS AN HOUR LATE TO WORK!

Portland/Seattle 9/22-26/08
Shawn & I had a chance to take a trip for our anniversary this year. We, well I decided that we were going to go to Portland to see our siblings that live there. We have never been, and all I have to say is, I can't wait to go back! I love it up there.
We left on Monday and it was really nice cause we flew out if pocatello. We made it up to Portland early afternoon and when he were waiting at the baggage claim there were tons & tons people all grouped around a gate, they were clapping, yelling, and being very loud. We thought maybe some troops were home or something. And all of the sudden we hear the grop yelling "BEAT L.A.!!" A few minutes later, I see this really tall guy walking by with 3 bodygards, I guess he's the new Trailblazer Rudy. Who Knew?! Than we met up with Jeremy. He showed us around, took us to his house and we finally met all 7 of their cats! They are very nice kitties!! later that night we met up back up with Jermey & Chandra for dinner and a movie!
Tuesday, we headed to Seattle, I bought tickets to the Mariners/Angels game. Tuesday was our anniversay, so I thought this was the greatest gift I could buy myself. I still don't know how Shawn feels about it. We left early so we could spend the afternoon in Seattle, Shawn had never been there so we wanted to take him around. We went up to the Space Needle and hung out in that area for awhile, we were walking around and saw a really cool fountain that was timed to music. So we set and watched it for awhile, I could watch it for hours.
Than we headed to the game! The field looks so such smaller in real life. We were 14 ROWS from the field on the 1st base line! I had the TIME OF MY LIFE there, Chandra had never been to a game and she love it! She wants to go back next year. It was a really good game, we saw 3 homeruns and the Mariners pulled ahead and won 9-6! which is good cause I guess they were pretty bad this year. During the 7th inning Shawn left, I thought that he was just going to the restroom, but he never came back. I guess the whole day he was feeling like crap and he never said a word cause he didn't want to ruin the day for me! WHAT A SWEET GUY!

Needless to say, Jeremy had to drive home cause we think that Shawn got food poisoning from our Hotel Breakfast! The ride home was not one that I would want to do again!
Wednesday, Jeremy & Chandra took to down town Portland. I just have to say that it kinda freaked me out alittle bit. going from Poky, to a city that has 800,000 people is a culture shock. They took us to Voodoo Donuts, they have any kind of donut that you can thing of, then we went to Powell's Bookstore. This place takes up a whole city block, and claims to be "THE WORLDS BIGGEST BOOKSTORE" It was really cool, we were there only a couple of hours and didn't get to look at everything that we wanted to.
Thursday, Shawn & I just had a day for us to hang out, we went shopping, and then met up with his Brother-inlaw. It was nice just to hang out and do what we wanted. Later that night, Jeremy had alittle get together party for the premire of "The Office" he had a couple of cool friends come over and we had a BBQ. It was a blast, its nice to have a party like that with people that like the same shows as you!
And, Friday we flew home. When we were in Salt Lake waiting to catch our plane to Poky, the whole Royal Salt Lake soccer team was in the airport!
It was a great trip and we can't wait to make it up there again! it is true what people say, once you have been to Portland, you want to move there! :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Today is Shawn & I's second anniversary. I can't believe that its been 2 years already! Time has flown by so fast. Alot of things have changed in the last 2 years. Shawn graduated P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standard Training) 3 months after we were married and has been working for Blackfoot PD. for almost 2 1/2 years. We bought our first home in May 2007, and have been re-modeling it ever since. We love doing the work, but hope that we can get everything done that we want to in a timely matter! Shawn graduated University of Phoenix in May 2008, and was accepted to Indiana State University Master's Program and will be starting that in January 2009.

Still no kids yet, and probably won't be for a LONG time, Shawn thinks that it is best to wait until he is finished with school (another 2-5 years). I think that he just says that cause I told him that if he waits to have kids until I'm 30, it's not going to happen. I don't know, maybe he will surprise me one day, and decide that it would be a good idea to start our family.

I just want to tell Shawn how much I love him. There are not enough words to tell him what he means to me. He is the best husband, and will be a great dad someday. I learn so many things everyday from him. It's nice to know that I finally have someone that gets me, and loves me for the person that I am. I know that we have our hard times, but what couple doesn't. I'm so lucky that I was able to find my best friend and marry him. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

Hunting Season Has Begun
Shawn and his good friend Tommy left last night to go Bow hunting until Monday. I hope that they both get something. I don't really get the point of hunting. My family never went, so I didn't grow up with it. So I just tell myself that it must be like "The Day After Thanksgiving" shopping. I'm always on the hunt for the best deals and the coolest stuff for Christmas. I don't know why there are so many wives that get bitchy when their Husbands go hunting. I think that its good for them to get away with the guys. I guess it gives my an excuse to have a girls weekend!! I don't care if Shawn goes hunting as long as its not on our Anniversary! But I guess that's what I get for getting married during hunting season! GOOD LUCK GUYS!!

Fall Is In The Air..... It's Soccer Time!
Well, last night my soccer team had our first game. We lost 3-1, but I still had a blast. Sometimes I wonder what I get myself into playing soccer. I still have no idea what the rules are, I just think of it as an awesome workout! I'm so uncoordinated its funny, I went to kick to ball away from someone and ended up kicking it into my face! I have no idea how I managed to do it. I just told myself that I was awesome cause honestly how many people can say that they can do that. My team is a great group of people and I'm looking forward to having a great time this season!

At Peace
Last friday something hit me, I don't know what it was, but I liked it. All of the sudden I feel so at peace with everything that has been going on lately. Late friday, I suddenly felt a warm comforting peaceful feeling come over me. I can't explain it, but I know that it was Heavenly Father letting me know that everything is going to be alright. I know that everything happens for a reason, and Shawn still has some things to do before his time is finished here. I just feel so good, and don't ever want it to go away. We are doing TONS better, and I just would like to thank everyone who had us in their prayers and thoughts. We don't know where we would be without great friends like you! :)

TAG!...You're It!
Tag I'm it so that means you will be soon too!
Rules:
1. Each player starts with 8 random habits/facts about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write a post on their blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. At the end of the post you need to choose 8 people to get tagged and list Here are my 8 random facts/habits/emotionally disturbing pieces of information:
1. I am a junk food junkie. Thats pretty much all I eat. It drives Shawn totally up the wall. I'm sure that if I got into the habit of eating healthy I would enjoy it, but thats just it, getting in the habit. Everytime that we go somewhere, I can't walk out without some kind of junk. I'm really surprised that I don't weigh 300 pounds.
2. I HATE hamburger meat beyound all belief. It grosses me out so bad. I have no idea why, it just does. But I have been this way ever since I can remember.
3. I come of a family of 9 kids. I am the middle child (#5), and the only left-handed person beside my Grandpa on both sides of my family.
4.I love sports. Doesn't matter whats on I'm always watching it. I recently found that soccer is really fun to watch. I love college basketball (GO Tar Heels) and any other college sport because they are actually playing hard for something, other than money. I'm hoping that we can go to a Hockey game for my birthday. We are going to see The Seattle Mariner's in 3 weeks and I'm so EXCITED!! One of my life goals is to see a MLB game in every staduim in the US. And one of my dream jobs is working for ESPN! I swear that I'm a bigger sports freak that Shawn!!
5. I LOVE History, I know boring hu? I would love to go to Mexico and study all the Mayan stuff, and do the same in Egpyt. For some reason, that stuff just intrgues me. And it never gets old, I learn new things all the time. If I was smart, I would have started school when I was 17 and would be halfway to an Ph.d by now.
6. I Hate feet, they are the most disgusting part of the body to me. Maybe its because I always had to rub any Dad's and Grandma's feet when I was little.
7. I love playing Texas Hold 'Em. Its a great way to get a group of friends together and spend time with eachother. I think that its funny that all our friends hate playing with girls cause we take all their money!
8. I'm addicted to Bravo and HGtv. I could watch that all day, everyday. Its so bad. Shawn gets annoyed all the time cause I tell him about all the ideas for the house I saw on T.V.
I am supposed to tag 8 people, but whoever wants to do it can!

Mixed Emotions
I don't really have anyone who I can talk to about my feelings with Shawn's accident. It all still seems like a dream to me. I can't believe that it really happened and that I almost in a blink of an eye lost the most important part of my life. I'm still in shock, I have felt like a zombie since Saturday night. I'm so emotionally drained. I never want to receive another phone call like that in my life. One minute, I'm so mad at the driver that I could beat him and than the next, I don't even care about him, and am just so happy that Shawn walked away. I feel that part of it is my fault. The Police Dept. wants us to move up there so bad even though it is not a requirement. I feel like that if we lived in Blackfoot none of this would have happened. I begged Shawn not to take the bike, I told him that there were going to be a lot of drunks on the road last weekend, and that I would feel much better if he took the Honda. All he said was "I'll be fine, I drive home at 3 in the morning". It still kills me to see that picture of him on the side of the road in my head. The last few nights, I haven't slept, I just to make sure that Shawn is sleeping and that he is okay. He says all he does at night is re-play the whole thing in his head. Everyone keeps asking if he is okay, and all he says is " I'm fine, and I'm happy that he hit me, and not someone else". I know that he wasn't hurt for a reason, and I'm truely greatful for that. I have no idea how I would surive without him. I'm so thankful that Heavenly Father carried him to safety when he left the bike. I will never take anyting for granted again. Just make sure that you tell the ones you love that you love them everyday, cause you never know when you might ever have the chance again to do so. Look at me, I'm a just a big baby. I feel alot better though, I know that I couldn't talk to Shawn about this yet, I don't think that we both are ready to. I would ask one thing of you though, please keep us in your prayers. And I know that we will get through this.

One More For The Road

The picture above, is a picture of Shawn's accident that happened saturday, August 30,2008. Shawn was on his way to work the Fair saturday and was taking to Old Hiway through Fort Hall like he always does on the bike. He bearly made it out of Chubbuck and was hit going 45MPH. The witnesses said that he flew about 8 feet in the air, landed and rolled a couple times, and got right back up on his feet. They were shocked that he was not seriously injured. The driver of the car got out to see if he was okay, and Shawn could smell the alcohol on his breath. Shawn told him to sit down and asked one of the witnesses to call 911. Then Shawn called me and told me that I needed to get to the scene ASAP, and that he was just hit by a drunk driver. By this point I was freaking out, I didn't know what to expect when I got there. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the bike sitting there on the car. I took me a minute to find Shawn, and he was okay (I still think in a little bit of shock). It was so cool though cause one of the first Officers on the scene got on the radio and reported that it was a fellow officer that was hit, and so many other officers arrived. There were 2 Chubbuck officers, 2 State Troopers, 2 County Deputie's, 3 Search and Rescue, a fire truck, and ambulance. At that moment, I realized that this is ONE BIG FAMILY that we belong to, they don't care what agency you work for, when one is hurt, everyone is there to help out. After things had settled down, we found out that the driver of the car blew nearly three times the legal limit and didn't have a license or insurance. The only injuries that Shawn has is some torn muscles in his upper right thigh (he tore off the gas tank when he flipped off), some scrapes on his right elbow, and a skinned pinky toe. I know for a fact, that Someone was watching over him. We are so thankfull for everyone's prayers.
