I figured I better write this down before I forget it.
Keaton's story begins on May 28, 2011. That was the day I was determined to have him. Shawn took me to the mall to walk laps before he had to go to work. I wasn't feeling any pain or anything, and had decided that this child was NEVER coming. So, after Shawn went to work I went walking again. Still nothing. So I just gave up. I had 2 due dates 5/28/11 & 6/6/11. For the last 7 weeks of the pregnancy I was measuring to the May date. My Doctor's told me not to count on that date cause I was a first time mom, and they usually always go late.
So later in the evening I decided to pamper myself, I went out to eat, watched a movie and just relaxed. I had heard a rumor that if you rub the back of your ankles/legs when you are pregnant it will put you into labor. So before bed that is exactly what I did. It felt so good, and I was asleep in no time.
Shawn came home from work around 2:45am. After he had gotten ready for bed, and was headed upstairs to eat I told him to leave the bathroom light on for me. Not more than 15 minutes later (3am), I woke up to a really sharp pain in my stomach. As I got up and headed to the bathroom, I realized what just happened. MY WATER BROKE!!! I had to yell for Shawn to come help me. I was alittle freaked out! So he grabbed a baby book and told me that we had 12-24 hours before anything was going to happen. About 5 minutes later the contractions stared coming, strong and fast. So after about an hour & a half, I called me Doctor. She didn't sound convinced that I was in hard labor, and told me to call back when I couldn't handle it anymore.....We called her back 15 minutes later and told we needed to head in.
We met her at the clinic, and in between contractions, I was pacing pretty good. She thought I was over reacting, and made me climb 4 flights of stairs to her office. When she was able to check me I was already at an 8! WHAT!!! I had only been in labor for an hour & a half at this point. So we were headed to the Hospital to have a baby!
When we arrived at the Hospital, we weren't in our room for more than 10 minutes, and I told her that I had to PUSH. And 45 minutes later, Keaton Shawn Hunter arrived at 7:02am! I had no time for drugs or anything. And I wouldn't have any other way. From start to finish my labor was only 4 HOURS!!! I know how to get the job done!
